What can a community manage in Posta besides the gate?
Dues tracking, amenity reservations, announcements and alerts, and surveys or suggestions, alongside visitor passes, resident credentials, and the entry log. Every module is enabled per neighborhood, so a community that only wants gate control gets only gate control, and one that wants the rest can turn it on later without moving to another system.
How do residents get accounts?
Your neighborhood administrator provisions them. There is no public sign-up, so nobody can create an account for your community from outside it. Administrators can suspend or restore access at any time, and access changes are recorded.
What does a resident do to let a visitor in?
The resident announces the visitor from the app and issues a QR pass with a validity window and a use limit, then shares it with the visitor. Frequent visitors are saved once and reused. The resident can revoke a pass before it is used.
What happens when someone arrives without a pass?
The guard follows a recorded decision path instead of an informal wave-through: the visit is logged, the decision and its reason are attached, and the record stays in the entry history. That is the point of the module, because walk-ins are where paper logbooks lose the thread.
Does the gate still work if the internet goes down?
Validation requires a connection, and when a credential cannot be verified the answer is no. Posta fails closed on purpose: an access control product that opens the gate when it cannot check anything is worse than no product. Your guards keep whatever manual fallback your neighborhood already has.
Can one neighborhood see another neighborhood’s data?
No. Isolation between neighborhoods is enforced on the server and again at the database layer on every data path, not filtered in the interface. A request for another community’s data is refused rather than hidden.
Who can see the entry log and the photos?
Guards see what they need at the gate, administrators see their own neighborhood, and auditors get read-only, redacted visibility. Evidence photos are private files delivered through short-lived links with retention limits, never public URLs, and sensitive administrator views are written to an audit trail.
Does Posta track where residents or guards are?
No. The app never requests location permission and does not collect location data. It asks for three things and nothing else: the camera, to scan a pass and to attach a photo at the gate where the module requires one; your photo library, only when you attach a payment receipt you already have; and notifications, if you want alerts.
How do residents hear about announcements?
Through the in-app inbox, push notifications, or WhatsApp, according to each resident’s own preference. WhatsApp messages are only sent to residents who opted in, and a resident can turn that off without losing the in-app inbox.
Does Posta collect dues or process payments?
No. Posta is not a payment processor and never touches card or bank details. It records what is owed, lets residents submit proof of payment, and keeps the reviewer’s decision on file so the board has a record.
Is the app in Spanish?
Yes. Posta ships in English and Spanish. Each neighborhood sets its default language and time zone, and residents can override their own.
Can we export or delete our data?
Yes. Write to support.posta@deverr.io from the address on your account and we respond within 30 days. Some access and audit records are retained where the community or the law requires it, and we will tell you what was kept and why.
What does Posta cost?
Pricing depends on how many households and gates your community runs, so we quote it directly. Email us with those two numbers and we will come back with a figure and a walkthrough.
